Our Vision as an organisation is to bring businesses, educators and communities together to form partnerships that identifies opportunities, innovates and finds solutions.

We will collaboratively build on our regions strengths and opportunities in the tourism, agribusiness, horticultural and related education and technology spaces.  Within five years we wish to be recognised as a centre of excellence in contemporary regional economic development and regional innovation ecosystem modelling and show what a community working together can achieve.


Mildura Regional Development’s (MRD) mission is to be improve the region’s economic position and be thought of as a valued partner that is recognised by council, industry, the community and investors as a knowledgeable, trusted advisor and economic growth leader who is commercially astute, innovative and adds value. Our primary purpose is to support the growth of Mildura’s vibrant economy including tourism in a sustainable, ethical, inclusive, innovative and digital manner.


We will complete our mission by building the platform to support an innovative eco system. We will do this by being project focused, customer centric, agile, and by pursuing common values and shared pursuits. We will work at a granular level in a commercial and evidence based manner and aim to work in partnerships that are collaborative, collegial and adding value whenever possible.  We will explore new ideas and opportunities, embrace the age of innovation and digital will be first choice.


We will always have a sense of team, operate transparently, ethically, and commercially, while remembering that we are custodians of public money. We will have an open mind and an enquiring and flexible attitude. We will keep faith with our team mates, partners and the community and will protect the reputation of our organisation, and our region. We will provide no information or take part in any action which might be harmful or detrimental to our reputation, commercial or economic development activities. In terms of strategy we will be well researched, use evidence based best practice principles and think digital first.  However, we will recognise and appreciate our history, traditions and work done by those that came before us.
